The First Steps to Many

When people see the culmination of success, they sometimes wonder how its possible to achieve that success – they believe that it was divine inspiration, luck, boat-loads of money, or some other intangible; instead it takes 10,000 little steps – some forward, some backwards.

So how did a little start-up in an 1100sq ft office (including the warehouse!) go from this…

to global offices, 75,000+ sq ft warehouses, and a successfully run business.

In 2010 the cell-phone boom was well underway, but smartphones were now starting to take center-stage with the rapid success of the iPhone Series. Noticing the trend towards smarter, more expensive hand-held devices, the time to break into the cell-phone accessories industry was the right decision. UNU opened for business in 2010. That same year saw an increase of almost 7 billion dollars into the market.

With the huge rise of expensive hand-held phones came two needs: the need for added power, and the need for protection. UNU sought to deliver both in a single product, the UNU DX Protective Battery Case for 3GS. The DX Series was so successful, it continued for FIVE generations of iPhones.

Supplied with a solid product, the question became where to sell it. With no outside investment and no immediate way to bring the product to the public, e-commerce became the easiest platform for entry.

While Ebay had been established for some time, amazon.com was rapidly expanding. Within the first year, over 95% of all our sales were directly attributed to amazon.

that didn’t stop us from trying to add MORE avenues of sales…

Our expansion didn’t just stop with advertising or sales, UNU Continued operations globally too!

Success begot success. Soon UNU was an award-winning company, home to multiple successful product lines, with multiple advertising campaigns, partnerships with several Fortune 500 companies, and media-acclaimed technologies.

Final Notes

Developing a successful company, takes effort, strategic planning, multiple channels of growth, and so much more. Above is just a synopsis of what we were able to do for UNU. I pride myself on the development of UNU and my hand in creating the successful company it is today.
